Sanding & Sealing Dining Room Floor

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

Mr Cathcart carried out sanding and sealing work on my dining room floor.

The floorboards are the original ones from when the house was built in 1905, and were in a very dirty, scrappy condition. At various times they had been painted, stained and varnished, Over the last fifteen years they had been covered with carpet.

Mr Cathcart arrived promptly to give us a price and an estimate of the time for the job. He started on the given date and worked very hard throughout the job. He used the dustless sander, and there was absolutley no mess or clearing up for me to do.

As the floor was in such a bad condition, Mr Cathcart had to sand some of it by hand to bring up those stubborn areas. He spent an extra morning on it, and the finished article is quite stunning. It is hard to believe it is the same floor. Although he had to spend extra time on the floor, he made no extra charge, even when asked about this.

Throughout, Mr Cathcart was courteous and pleasant. He was punctual and worked with hardly a break. He obviously gets great satisfaction from seeing an old floor come back to like.

Q. My hardwood floor is badly scratched. Can you restore this without messing up the whole house?

A. We use a unique multi-drive disc sander, which is fully vacuum assisted to remove dust. We can sand the floor while your curtains still hang on the walls. Dust is minimal and your floor can be fully restored to pristine condition.

Q. I have a Chinese slate floor that looks dull, but when I wash it it looks fine until it dries out. Can you help?

A. You need a good commercial seal applied, but before that we would deep clean to remove all the ground in dirt, then neutralise and finally apply a hard wearing quality seal. This will restore the appearance and leave it easier for you to look after on a daily basis. The seal will also protect your valuable tiles.

Q. Do you provide a service to clean and maintain my supermarket floors on a regular basis?

A. Within the Commercial Contract Division we provide a comprehensive service to strip, reseal and then maintain all floor surfaces. Whether it is the deli area or wherever, our service is very thorough and complete. We also provide regular office cleaning, if you require it.
